Sunil perera is one of the legend in music. Uswatta Liyanage Ivor Sylvester Sunil Perera is his brith name but he famous with sunil perera. He was born on 14th september 1952 at Narahenpita sri lanka. He was studied at st sebesthian collage and st peters collage. He was son of Anton perera and Diaon perera. He was married Geetha kulathunga in 1981. They have 4 children.

We know only his son gayan perera he also singer. Mr. Sunil perera has a brother he is piyal perera. Both of them performaned with their own band gypsies. Perera was the leder and lead vocalist of the gypsies. He was not only singer but also he was a getarist, song writter, composer.

He was associate with sri lankan baila genre, and he gained the nickname "baila chakrawarthi". He followed pop, soul, rythem and blues,baila,western chacha, rock, hip pop and reggey styles.

Unfortunately he was positive with covid -19 in aguest. In spite of treatment, on 5 September, he was re-admitted to hospital due to pneumonia and died in the early hours of 6 September 2021, one week before his 69th birthday. So goodbye legend. You are the one of unfogatable singer.
