Poson full moon

 

Poson is the most important to buddhist peoples as vesak. The day devot buddists of sri lanka as it marks the arrival of arahath mahinda thero carring tha noble teaching of the buddha. Since asian timeswe have been engaged to buddhist amisa pooja and prathipaththi pooja to celebrate the poson day.

We knows in the poson day our king devanampiyathissa was huntting deers. Arahath mahinda thero explained that killing animals was a sin and its consequences. When king devanampiyathissa listen to the mahinda thero he was became sovan. Even today we use this opportunity to symbolizen poson poya day.

Buddist celebrating this with arlms giving , dansal , discribing colourful pandols and decorate their houses with colourful lanterns. Also they went temple to worship and participate to the full moon pooja. In other poya days temples fullfilling with buddist. But during this pandemic situation temples deserted without anyone.
